Summary

Just A Kitchen Timer collects no personal data and sends no data to the developer. It saves only your timer settings, and it saves them on your device. The application has no user accounts, no analytics, and no advertising, and the developer operates no server.

Data this application collects

None. The application collects no personal data and no sensitive user data of any kind. It does not collect:

Data stored on your device

The application saves your timer settings on your device, so that your settings are still there the next time you open it. The developer never receives these settings and cannot read them. Android removes them when you uninstall the application.

If you have turned on Android Backup, Android can copy an application's saved settings to your own Google Drive account. This is a feature of Android, and you control it in your device settings. The developer has no access to your Google Drive and no access to any backup that Android makes. A backup can outlive the uninstall, so delete the backup in your Google account if you want the settings removed from there as well.

Third parties

The application contains no third-party software development kits, no analytics libraries, no advertising libraries, and no crash-reporting library. The application itself sends no data to the developer and no data to any third party.

Google distributes the application through Google Play. Google independently collects data about installations and about Google Play Store activity under its own privacy policy. That collection happens through the Google Play Store and through the Android platform rather than through the application, and the developer does not control it. Read the Google Privacy Policy for that information.

Google Play also gives the developer statistics about the application, such as install counts by country and by device model, together with crash and performance reports that the Android platform collects from users who chose to share usage and diagnostics data with Google. The developer does not control that collection, did not ask for it in code, and cannot use those reports to identify you.

Permissions

The application requests permissions only in order to run a timer on your device and to show a notification when a timer finishes. No permission is used to collect, store, or send your personal data. Google Play lists the permissions that the application requests on the application's Google Play page.

Data retention and deletion

The developer holds no personal data that the application collected from you. There is therefore nothing for the developer to retain and nothing for the developer to delete.

The application has no user account and no sign-in, so there is no account to delete and no account-deletion request mechanism applies to it.

To remove the timer settings that are saved on your device, uninstall the application. If Android has copied those settings to your Google Drive account, delete that backup in the settings of your Google account.

Children

The application collects no personal data from any user, and this includes children. It contains no advertising, no analytics, and no social features.

Because the application collects no personal information at all, the developer holds no personal information about a child, and no verifiable parental consent is needed under the United States Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) or under the GDPR.

Security

Your timer settings are written to the application's private storage area on your device. The Android application sandbox prevents other applications from reading that area. On a device that has a screen lock, Android's own file encryption protects it as well.

Every release of the application is signed with the developer's signing key and is distributed only through Google Play, so that you can rely on a build having come from the developer.

The developer receives no user data from the application and operates no server that holds user data. There is therefore no collection of user data for the developer to protect, and no transfer of user data to the developer that could be intercepted.

Your rights

Privacy laws such as the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA and CPRA), give you rights over personal data that an organisation or an individual holds about you. For this application the data controller is Aleksandar Shtarbev, an individual developer, who can be reached at alex.shtarbev@gmail.com.

The developer holds no personal data that the application collected from you. There is therefore nothing for the developer to disclose, correct, delete, export, or opt out of. The developer does not sell personal information and does not share it, because the application collects none.

If you believe that your personal data has been handled unlawfully, you have the right to complain to your local data protection supervisory authority. You can also write to the developer at alex.shtarbev@gmail.com with any privacy question about the application.

Changes to this policy

If the application starts to collect data, the developer will update this policy and change the effective date above before the change takes effect. This page shows the current version of this policy.
